Brain injury
An acquired brain injury (ABI) is an injury caused to the brain since birth. There are many possible causes, including a fall, a road accident, tumour and stroke. A brain injury may result in cognitive, emotional, behavioural or physical symptoms.
HABIT (Herefordshire Acquired Brain Injury Team) are part of the Wye Valley NHS Trust and are based at Belmont in Hereford. They provide timely assessments to people and carers who have suffered an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). It is recognised that many people with an ABI will have significant lifelong needs that may require support.
Herefordshire Headway is the local branch of Headway - a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury.
