Swap to Stop

Quitting smoking using vapes

Vapes are promoted to adults who already smoke as a way to reduce or quit smoking. Using a vape can help you manage your nicotine cravings.

E-liquids come in different nicotine strengths, so you control how much nicotine you need to help with cravings and other withdrawal symptoms, such as feeling irritable and having low mood.

Nicotine vapes significantly increase your chances of quitting smoking, and provide nicotine in a far less harmful form than smoking. Studies show that vaping carries a fraction of the risk of cigarettes. This is because vapes do not produce tar or carbon monoxide - two of the most damaging elements in tobacco smoke.

More information about quitting smoking using vape can be found on the NHS website - Better Health.

Our local stop smoking service can provide you with free vape kits. Find out more about our Swap to Stop service in this video, and how we can help you to give up smoking tobacco.

But we always recommend that if you don't smoke - don't vape.
