We offer support to people and families, who might need a little extra help, whether that’s a short term one off or for the longer term.  Our help includes:

  • Food shopping
  • Food boxes
  • Cooking and providing a hot meal
  • Essential goods shopping
  • Collecting prescriptions
  • Having someone to talk to
  • Dog walking (we will do our best!)
  • Looking after livestock

We also support our many local community groups, activities and Black Hill Community Radio, which are listed on our website.

Garway Talk Community Hub is inviting you to their welcoming volunteer-led hubs!

There’s so many things on offer for local residents, so they can get together and get the right kind of support they need over a cuppa and maybe cake!

At each Hub the following is readily available:

  • TC Hub Reps have access to electronic devices to search helpful websites. Residents can get lots of handy information to help their health and wellbeing, as well find out what services, groups and activities are available within their local community or across the county.
  • You are welcome to make a small monetary donation to the TC Hub refreshments.
  • Outreach Services:
    • Hereford Council Honesty Library
    • Post Office Outreach, delivering post office support in rural areas (every Tuesday 10am -12 midday)
  • Community donated books available to read on site or take home for a donation in a jar

Creative TC Hub

Bringing families and friends of all ages together to enjoy refreshments and bring own crafts like knitting, sewing, scrap booking, water colour painting, board games. Skills share to help inspire someone to learn a new craft! Some activities can be provided like chess & draughts, water colour pallets and brushes, patterned sheets using hub brush pens. More activities in the pipeline!

Our community hub, run by C.A.R.E. (Herefordshire) CIC, is a friendly, warm and inviting venue, where you can meet old or new friends, get involved in a range of fantastic drop-in, weekly lunchclubs which are hosted on Tuesday's from 11:30 am, Thursday's from 12:00 pm and book our Sunday Lunch takeaway service. You can also join our community gym.

If you'd like wellbeing information or signposting to services, groups or activities taking place in and around Pontrilas or perhaps across the county, our fully trained, friendly volunteers can help. Please get in touch on 01981 240235 or sonya.cary@gmail.com.

Madley Talk Community Hub

The Stables Café, Madley, Hereford, HR2 9QZ

Open every Saturday, for Social Saturdays 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Offering free tea, coffee, biscuits & chat for all. 

Open every Tuesday, for a Free Tea Night. 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm.

Parminder from Madley Mighty Mix Takeaway has been serving free, homemade, hot meals and drinks every week since February.
This initiative is open to EVERY PARISHIONER with absolutely no criteria to come along to chat, do crafts, enjoy, play, socialise, dine for free and have fun.
All ages are welcome - we have parishioners aged from 1 to 93! 


Our volunteers will be on hand in this delightful community cafe to help you find wellbeing information and signpost you to local and countywide services, groups and activities to help support you and your family.

We use tablet computers to access online services. We can also print relevant information for you to take away.

Please note, the Stables Café is accessed through the churchyard.



The Hub at St Peter's

Our Talk Community Hub is on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11am-2pm.

The Hub offers a range of activities for the Golden Valley community throughout the year, including Chatty Cafe, a Kids' Play Cafe, a Youth Cafe and various courses, workshops and events.  The Hub also houses a welcoming community café and a small community library.
The cafe opening times are Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 11am-2pm and the first Saturday of every month for breakfast 10am-12pm.

Citizens Advice Herefordshire offer a booked appointment session at the hub every fortnight. You can call them on 0344 826 9688 to book Monday - Friday 10am - 3pm (excluding Thursdays) or email them advice@citaherefordshire.org.uk.

The Hub operates a Community Helpline and provides wellbeing support and signposting assistance to those in need.    In addition, NHS physiotherapists and Health Visitors run regular drop-in sessions for local people.  Two laptops are available for use and there is an information point on the Mezzanine.
