Buying food and essentials

Funding from the Household Support Fund is supporting third party organisations to provide additional support to Herefordshire residents struggling with buying food and essential household items.

Age UK Wyvern can provide food vouchers to people of pension age (66 or over) who are struggling with the cost of food.  Age UK Wyvern accept self-referrals and referrals from agencies.

They can also provide information and support.

Bromyard Food Bank – can provide food parcels. They accept self-referrals and agency referrals.

Hereford Food Bank – can provide food parcels and starter packs for people entering first time accommodation (food and goods). They can also provide cooking equipment (slow cookers, kettles and microwaves). Hereford Food Bank only accept referrals from agencies.

Ledbury Food Bank – can provide food vouchers as well as providing advice services through Citizens Advice. They accept self-referrals and agency referrals.

Leominster Food Bank – can provide food parcels along with other household essentials such as washing capsules.

The Living Room, Hereford [Ethos] – can provide food parcels, cooking utensils, cookery courses as well as nutrition and budgeting advice. They accept self-referrals and agency referrals.

Putson Baptist Church [South Wye], Hereford – can offer food parcels and offer a hot meal provision once a week during the school holidays.

They also offer budgeting and money advice. Putson Baptist Church accept self-referrals and agency referrals.
