A purple denim background with the message have you got what it takes to retrain as a carer? Herefordshire Cares

Are you looking for a change?  Do you want to make a difference to people's lives every day?  Working in adult social care could be the rewarding career that you've been looking for.

In the next 20 years, it is estimated that Herefordshire’s older population will grow significantly, but it doesn’t stop there.  There are other Herefordshire residents of all ages with complex health and social care needs, who require someone to care for them too.  We want everybody in Herefordshire to lead a full, happy and healthy life and to help us in our mission, we need to find new adult social care workers.

Herefordshire Cares is an initiative, launched by Herefordshire Council, which aims to raise the profile of those working in the local care sector and to recruit more adult social care workers.

Whatever your skills and experience, there is a wealth of career choices and prospects in adult social care.  Every day an adult social care worker makes a difference to someone’s life by empowering others to live more independently, putting smiles on faces, providing company, encouraging physical activity or just listening with patience.

Councillor Pauline Crockett, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Wellbeing, said: “The adult social care sector is continually evolving with new positions and exciting challenges emerging all the time.  If you’d like to grow professionally, there’s never been a better time to consider a career as a care worker, with a variety of job vacancies and fulfilling opportunities available.”
