National walking month is campaign that takes place every May, celebrating the many benefits of walking and wheeling.   As we move into May, we welcome lighter evenings and hopefully some spring sunshine, making it the perfect time to get walking! Walking is a great way to help us feel energised, connect with our community, and get a free workout.

If you are in need of a nudge and want to find a quick, easy way to boost your wellbeing Living Streets have put together 20 tips to help you fit 20 minutes of walking into your day.

If you’re looking to connect with others in your community or could do with a regular event to keep you motivated then keep your eyes peeled on some of the walking groups and events listed on the Talk Community Directory. There’s something for everyone, from Wellbeing Walks for Autistic Adults to a free weekly walk in Hereford.

Visit the Herefordshire Council website to explore some of the county’s scenic circular walks and easy access walks.

If you can't see a walk or walking group listed in your area on the Talk Community Directory please do check back at a later date as new events and groups are added all the time.

If you run a walking group and would like to promote it on the Talk Community Directory please do get in touch by emailing us talkcommunitydirectory@herefordshire.gov.uk
