World Homeless Day 2024
10 October 2024
World Homeless Day is an internationally observed awareness day, launched in 2010. Every year on 10th October, World Homeless Day provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the experiences of people facing homelessness and to recognise what we can do to prevent homelessness in our communities.
World Mental Health Day and World Homeless Day
It feels important to highlight that World Mental Health Day falls on the same day as World Homeless Day; because the two issues are often closely linked. Poor mental health and associated issues can often be a cause of homelessness, whilst inadequate housing or homelessness can lead to poor mental health. Tackling Homelessness in Herefordshire
It has been recognised that the contributing factors of homelessness are complex and that an effective response to homelessness must be multifaceted.
Partnership working, plays an integral role in the work being done to address homelessness in Herefordshire and you can read more about this and the work of the Rough Sleeper Outreach Team from Will Neville the Team Leader, in the September 2024 edition of Herefordshire Now.
