Community transport
There are currently seven community transport schemes operating in Herefordshire, covering the areas of Bromyard, Golden Valley, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford, Ledbury, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.
The schemes provide a pre-booked, door to door service to help you get out and about, especially if there’s no local public transport available or you have limited mobility, which prevents you from using public transport services. They normally require at least 48 hours’ notice, so it’s important to make sure you book in advance.
To find out more, including how to contact the different schemes, visit the Herefordshire Council’s website.
Alternative travel options
Beryl Bikes
The Beryl Bikes bike share scheme, enables you to quickly and easily travel around Hereford. There’s 200 Beryl Bikes and 30 Beryl e-Bikes available from 65 Beryl Bays across the city centre, simply look for the distinctive green colour!

Car share / car pool schemes
Car sharing can be a great way of saving money and reducing your carbon footprint, by sharing your journey with someone else.
To find out more about car sharing, visit the Liftshare website.
A number of local communities also have car share or car pool schemes, such as the St James & Bartonsham Car Club in Hereford, where you can share your journeys or vehicles.
You can normally find details of these schemes within your local parish / area newsletter.
Park and Cycle
There are currently 23 Park and Cycle locations across the county, where you can park your car before continuing your journey by bike. A number of locations also have secure lockers available, where you can leave your bike overnight.
To find out more about the scheme and the current locations, visit Herefordshire Council’s website.
Park and Share
Park and Share is similar to car sharing, but instead of sharing the entire journey together, you park one car in a designated Park and Share location, before completing your journey together in the other car.
To find out more about the scheme and how to join, visit Herefordshire Council’s website.
