Coping with loss
Losing someone or something we love can be very difficult, whether it is through divorce, death or the end of a friendship. Everyone deals with loss differently and you may experience a range of emotions and difficult feelings. Supporting your children through loss will be challenging, however with time and the right support you will learn to cope with grief and feeling of loss.
Top Tips
- Try talking to a friend, family member or counsellor about how you are feeling. You could also contact a bereavement support organisation (you can find contacts in local and national support below)
- Take your time to adjust, try not to do everything at once
- Allow yourself to feel your emotions, even if they feel painful at first.
